In the early hours on May 23, 1994, Mr. Chiasson tried to save his twin daughters from a house fire in St. Joseph du Moine, Nova Scotia. Realizing the residence was on fire, he woke his wife and told her to take their son and leave immediately. Despite the rapidly increasing smoke and flames, Mr. Chiasson made his way upstairs to the girls' room while his wife ran next door to call the fire department. Tragically, firefighters were unable to save Mr. Chiasson and his two daughters.
