Michelle Kinch, aged 27, perished while attempting to save a younger brother during a fire which gutted her house on 7 April 1982. Miss Kinch awoke to find a fire raging out of control in a room located under the upstairs bedroom occupied by her brother. She rushed outside with another younger brother, then re-entered the burning house. Fighting dense smoke, she climbed the stairs, entered the bedroom and was immediately overcome.
