Mr. Chesebrough rescued a man from a burning cabin in Kingston, Ontario, on January 13, 1995. Alerted to the fire, he immediately raced to the dwelling and kicked open the locked front door. Despite the intense smoke and flames, he crawled inside until he found the disoriented victim lying on the floor. As debris fell on them and windows shattered, Mr. Chesebrough grabbed the man and dragged him outside. He carried him a safe distance away, where they awaited the arrival of the firefighters and ambulance attendants.
