Medal of Bravery
On the morning of 4 June 1984, Ralph Arsenault and Kenneth Fraser, Masters of the fishing boats Bellrock and Lurch's Toy respectively, attempted to rescue of three fishermen aboard the Justanother Boat which had capsized in extremely rough seas off Prince Edward Island. Fishing boats were waiting to enter Alberton Harbour one by one when a huge swell suddenly swamped the Justanother Boat. Battling gale-force winds, Mr. Arsenault tried repeatedly to secure a line to the stricken vessel. With a skilful manoeuvre Mr. Fraser finally succeeded, but the line broke and the Justanother Boat sank deeper into the waves. Another fishing boat, the Lorrie F., pulled the crew members to safety while, at the risk of their own lives, Messrs. Arsenault and Fraser remained at the scene to render invaluable assistance.
