Lauchlin Henry Alexander Armstrong, M.B.
Medal of Bravery
On May 27, 2008, Lauchlin Armstrong, an off-duty paramedic and volunteer firefighter, rescued a man from a burning house, in Port Malcolm, Nova Scotia. Mr. Armstrong responded to a 911 call made by the victim, whose limited mobility prevented him from escaping. Without any equipment, Mr. Armstrong entered the residence, made his way to the victim and brought him outside. Mr. Armstrong then returned inside several more times to retrieve the victim's necessary breathing equipment. The fire department arrived shortly afterwards and extinguished the fire.
