On December 22, 1988, Charles James Robert Leach-Moore apprehended a disturbed man who had just repeatedly stabbed a woman in Central Park, Burnaby, British Columbia. Mr. Leach-Moore was jogging through the park when he observed a young boy running from the washrooms, followed by a man. A woman, covered in blood, then emerged from the washrooms and screamed to Mr. Leach-Moore to stop the man. Mr. Leach-Moore pursued the fleeing assailant, eventually tackled him to the ground and held him until the authorities arrived.
