On March 14, 1988, a woman walking with her two young children through Mundy Lake Memorial Park in Coquitlam, British Columbia, was attacked by a mentally-disturbed person. Mrs. Yvonne Golley heard screams and ran to investigate. When she saw the man attacking the woman she began yelling and hitting him with a branch. While her blows had little effect on the assailant, the noise attracted the attention of Mr. Russell Jones. He ran to the scene and knocked the assailant off the victim. The attacker was turned over to the police upon their arrival.
