Medal of Bravery
At Station Beach in Kincardine, Ontario, on August 16, 1988, Paul Church, Terry Grozelle and Bob Knox participated in the rescue of the victims of rough waters. Observing a boy who was experiencing difficulties in the waves, Mr. Grozelle swam out to bring the boy to safety, aided by his brother in law, Mr. Knox. Both Mr. Church and Mr. Knox then swam out to rescue a young woman who was having trouble escaping the undertow. Mr. Grozelle, realizing the three needed further assistance, re-entered the water to help them. Mr. Knox was then able to bring the female victim to safety as Mr. Grozelle began to tow the exhausted Mr. Church towards the shore. The authorities completed the rescue.
