On June 23, 1992, along the trails in Watopeka Park in Windsor, Quebec, Mrs. Beaucher saved a teenage girl from a male attacker. Hearing the girl's screams for help, Mrs. Beaucher ran towards her and jumped on the attacker, pulling him backwards to release his hold. Letting go of the girl, the man then turned on Mrs. Beaucher, stabbed her in the chest and fled the scene. Shortly thereafter, she was taken to hospital, where she was treated for her injuries.
