On November 21, 1991, in Quebec City, Mr. Martin, an ambulance attendant, and Cst. Tremblay of the Quebec municipal police pulled from the flames a man trapped behind the steering wheel of his car. Called to the scene of the fire, Mr. Martin put out some of the flames with an extinguisher and managed to extinguish the victim's burning hair and clothes with his hands. Meanwhile, Cst. Tremblay tried to open the door on the driver's side with an iron bar. Mr. Martin finally succeeded in opening the door and the two rescuers reached into the vehicle to free the victim.
