On February 27, 1992, while vacationing in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, Mr. Hildebrandt saved a friend from electrocution. Standing on a third floor balcony, he realized that his friend's hand had become entangled in an overhanging live electrical wire, severely burning him. Acting swiftly, he lunged towards the victim and, using his own body, disengaged his friend from the wire. Both men fell to the ground and were taken from the blistered balcony. As a result of his actions, Mr. Hildebrandt sustained extensive injuries.
