Medal of Bravery
On September 10, 1992, Mr. McNally and Rev. Riley rescued a woman from a burning house in Aroostook, New Brunswick. Rev. Riley, a passer-by, smashed a window and used a garden hose to douse the flames at the door. He entered the smoke-filled house several times and discovered a second fire and a semi-conscious woman on the floor. Mr. McNally, who had just arrived on the scene, tried to enter the house but was driven back by the smoke. He then went in with Rev. Riley and the two were eventually able to reach the woman and carry her out of the house.
