On June 22, 1993, fourteen-year-old Kenneth Feakins jumped into the Grand River, near Elora, Ontario, to rescue two men from drowning. While playing with friends, he saw the men having difficulty in the middle of the river. Without hesitating, Kenneth swam through the treacherous waters to the victims. He grabbed hold of both men and, despite the unusually fast current, simultaneously towed them to shore.
