    On May 6, 2015, Master Corporal Bryan Gagne and Corporal Justin Yaassoub risked their lives to assist an injured colleague during an incident in Northern Iraq. After coming under fire from partner forces who mistook them for the enemy, the two soldiers were wounded and forced to seek cover with their team. Corporal Yaassoub exposed himself to fire as he attempted to come to the aid of an injured comrade, while Master Corporal Gagne drew attention to himself, convincing their allies of their identity and bringing the incident to an end.
