The Canadian Heraldic Authority does not have confirmed symbolism for this emblem. The following comments are hypotheses only. The bridges over the water likely allude to the occupation of Mr. Padmore’s father, who was a civil engineer specializing in water and sewage systems.

The Canadian Heraldic Authority does not have confirmed symbolism for this emblem. The following comments are hypotheses only. The naval officer’s sword represents Mr. Padmore’s career in the Royal Canadian Navy. The quill possibly alludes to the teaching career of his brother, who is also entitled to bear the arms. The ring might refer to the engineer's ring and thus to their father’s profession.
