Blazon

An annulus set in each flank with a merlon Bleu Céleste edged and inscribed SQUADRON and ESCADRON, separated in the flanks by the number of the unit Or, ensigned by the Royal Crown proper and environed by a wreath of maple leaves, in base a scroll Or inscribed with the Motto in letters Sable;

Symbolism

Most badges of the Canadian Armed Forces are enclosed within badge frames to permit quick visual identification of a unit's type and function. This is one of the badge frames used as part of the primary badges.
