Having survived the deadly fire that engulfed HMCS Kootenay in 1969, Lorne Baird has made it his goal to share his experience and knowledge with young people and to give much-needed care to seniors. In addition, he has served nearly four decades with Branch 285 of the Royal Canadian Legion.
