Ronald Barton Hyde has been committed to preserving and advancing the history of Richmond and British Columbia. He is an active member of several historical societies, including the British Columbia Historical Federation, where he has been a board member for 15 years, and the Kinsmen Club of Richmond, where he has gained provincial and national notoriety for his work and writings in the Richmond Kinsmen Newsletter.
