A teacher, a farm wife and a mother, Lois Bell has always found the time to help others. For over fifty years, she has volunteered in her community with organizations such as the Ladies Aid (now United Church Women), Girl Guides of Canada, the Women's Institute and the 4H. She is held in high esteem by her neighbours, for whom she is always close at hand in time of need: preparing a meal, offering comfort or pitching in to help out. Lois Bell is a caring presence both with organizations and individuals in her community.
