Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
While he was a faculty member at Memorial University of Newfoundland, Noel Veitch found the time to assist students, new Canadians and the arts community. He is the coordinator and co-founder of the campus food bank and a volunteer driver with the Victorian Order of Nurses' Meals on Wheels program. Mr. Veitch has shown outstanding dedication to the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra for 40 years as a musician and a board member. Whether helping new Canadians with accommodation and language instruction, carting boxes for the food bank, driving trucks for orchestra tours or providing counsel to board members and students, Mr. Veitch has made a positive difference in many lives.
