Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
Beth Bailey joined the Palliative Care Unit of London, Ontario's Parkwood Hospital as a volunteer in 1983. Since then, she has demonstrated a caring and compassionate devotion to senior citizens, people with disabilities and palliative care patients. In addition to serving as a hands-on volunteer, providing an attentive ear at patients' bedsides, she has raised funds for charitable causes and been a member of various boards and committees addressing the needs of senior citizens. She is currently President of the Parkwood Hospital Foundation.
