Edmond Beattie has sung in the Rivière-du-Portage parish choir since 1954. In that parish, he also administers communion and heads the liturgical committee, prayer celebrations and the Sunday school for children. Mr. Beattie is also a member of various committees, including the Rivière-du-Portage recreation committee, the Caisse Populaire, the Knights of Columbus, the Northumberland County Planning Commission and the Solid Waste Commission, to name just a few. Mr. Beattie's volunteer work is specifically directed toward the well-being of his community.
