Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
For the last 40 years, Douglas Blake has actively and continuously contributed his time and expertise to his community. From a very young age he became involved in volunteer activities as a server with his church and as an Assistant Scout Leader with Scouts Canada, where he eventually became a Scout Leader. In addition, as a retired chartered accountant, Mr. Blake's financial expertise has been invaluable to many organizations. He has worked diligently for the less fortunate in his community through his involvement with various church committees and the regional United Way.
