Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
Each year, as a volunteer, Cathie Harnett prepares hundreds of tax returns for people in need in the Okanagan district, last year preparing more than eight hundred single-handedly. She also volunteers at the local hospital in the gift shop and auxiliary, and is active with a home-support society. In addition to carrying out substantial work in the community, she speaks to groups on the issues and challenges of living with a disability.
