Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
A veteran of World War Two and 30-year President of the Naval Association of Newfoundland, Eastern Division, James Sheilds is devoted to helping less fortunate veterans and to ensuring that the children of Newfoundland and Labrador are aware of their contributions. Whether he is visiting veterans at the Caribou Memorial Veterans Pavilion, organizing the Royal Canadian Legion poppy campaign or cleaning graffiti from the St. John's War Memorial, he continues to serve those who served.
