Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
Jeannette Boulanger Fradette first began her volunteer work in a centre for girls with behavioural problems. She was responsible for the sewing shop, helping the girls to build their confidence and self-esteem. She would take time to eat with the girls, listen to them, comfort and encourage them. Mrs. Fradette is also active in the Association des bénévoles qualifiés au service des jeunes. She organizes monthly conferences for the volunteers and, as a member of the publicity committee, devotes her time and energy to recruiting new volunteers.
