Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
Madlyn Munro-Marcoux has been President of the Volunteer Association for the Hôpital de l'Enfant-Jésus, which has about 115 volunteers, for over twenty years. She manages the hospital's shop and initiated a program in the extended care unit devoted to the needs of elderly patients, including meals and social activities. Mrs. Munro-Marcoux also set up the bookmobile and helped establish projects such as visits for patients without families, the decoration of the chapel and staff get-togethers.
