Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
Suzanne Brodeur has been a member of parish councils and committees, coordinator of the major diocesan project Renewal, and a participant in the collection of funds for repairs to the Varennes Church. A member of the pastoral committee of the Mère d'Youville Sanctuary since 1981, she speaks in schools on Marguerite d'Youville and on the history of Varennes. She gives church tours and explains the origin of various paintings and the architecture of the Sainte-Anne-de-Varennes Basilica. Mrs. Brodeur volunteers with senior citizens and persons who are ill, and is a member of community organizations such as the Rural Women's Club and the Retired Teachers Association.
