For many years, Winnie Morris has nurtured and helped people who are disabled, sick or nearing the end of their lives. She is active in her church and has served as secretary of the Royal Alexandra Hospital Women's Auxiliary, also visiting new mothers and assisting with fundraising. Since the 1980s, she has made her focus the Dickinsfield Extended Care Centre, where she spends as many as four days a week. She began as a volunteer driver and now helps to feed patients, sits for hours with those who are dying, and offers friendship and compassion to anyone in need of comfort.
