Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
Lucy Dziadko was the founder and moving spirit behind the establishment of the Etobicoke Board of Education's English as a Second Language program. She has maintained her commitment in her retirement by founding the Lucy Dziadko Scholarship, awarded annually to a former ESL student graduating from grade 13 in Etobicoke who plans to attend university. In addition, she has continued to volunteer her services at a local junior school, reading to children and helping with activities.
