Wolf Bronet, Montréal, Que.
Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
Wolf Bronet began supporting various community service organizations soon after he arrived in Canada in 1949. In 1950 he began to jog for exercise. His outgoing personality motivated others, and he was soon joined by people from all walks of life. Under his direction, the group developed into an organized unit, known as the "Wolf Pack", and began to run to raise funds for deserving causes and philanthropies. The group has raised money for the Défi Corporatif Canderel in support of cancer research, the Terry Fox Run, the Heart Foundation, the Jewish National Fund and many other organizations, contributing directly and indirectly to the well-being of thousands of Canadians through organized, healthy, exercise.
