Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
Thelma Gillis has devoted her life to the development of musical talent in eastern Saskatchewan. A music teacher, she would forego remuneration rather than see a student without instruction, and would offer extra and longer lessons to help encourage and prepare students. She travels throughout the region in all seasons, as an instructor and volunteer for countless weddings, funerals, community gatherings and Christmas celebrations.
