During her 70 years as a volunteer, Ruth Bond-Martinson has worked to create opportunities for women and girls. She founded the all-women Maple Leaf Unit of the Army, Navy and Air Force Veterans in Canada, the Navy League Wrenette Corps in Saskatchewan, and the Junior Chamber of Commerce Jaycettes for girls. She is currently active with the Royal Canadian Legion, particularly during the Poppy Campaign.
