Carl-Éric Aubin is one of the foremost specialists in spine biomechanics. A professor at Polytechnique Montréal and Université de Montréal, and a researcher at CHU Sainte-Justine, he pioneered the field of “orthopaedic engineering,” which makes possible the development of new diagnostic tools and treatments for various musculoskeletal diseases. A strong proponent of transdisciplinarity, he spearheaded the launch of TransMedTech Institute, which is internationally renowned for its living lab approach, bringing together engineers, health professionals, industry and patients in a common effort.
