As a volunteer and philanthropist, Martha Jodrey has made important contributions to the advancement of many educational, health care and charitable causes in the Atlantic provinces. She is highly regarded for her commitment to supporting youth with learning disabilities and has been instrumental in establishing special education academic programs at the primary, secondary and post-secondary levels. In particular, she played an integral role in the creation of the first endowed chair in learning disabilities in Canada. A persuasive and determined fundraiser, she has been involved in numerous capital campaigns in support of a variety of schools, hospitals, museums and community groups.
