He was a professor of computer science at the University of Waterloo for almost forty years. An entrepreneur as well as teacher, he provided dynamic leadership in the development and commercialization of internationally-used software for educational purposes. His initiative and dedication to advancing the state of information technology has had an impact on computer education and software production at home and abroad.
