As a corvette commander during World War II, a partner with a successful law firm, or a tireless volunteer, he has consistently strived to challenge mediocrity and complacency. The Founding Director and first Chairman of CARE Canada, he volunteered his time to nurture the fledgling organization from its infancy to its present status as one of the most respected non-governmental aid agencies. He went on to become Vice-President of CARE International. Focussed on the well-being of children, he has also been supportive of the Royal Canadian Sea Cadets, Scouts Canada and Trinity College, helping to develop tomorrow's leaders.
