Known nationally and internationally as an expert in the field of hydrology and tidal power, he established the first hydrology course in Canada at the University of Manitoba. He was also a key player in the development of the Red River Floodway. He has represented Canada on numerous federal, provincial and international boards and committees. Since his retirement, he continues to act as a consultant to various organizations, both at home and abroad.
