A champion of architectural heritage, she has been a catalyst for the preservation of downtown neighbourhoods. She has spent over 20 years in municipal affairs, serving in various roles, including mayor of St. John's. Throughout her career, she has stressed the importance of heritage preservation and affordable housing in urban development. In addition to her professional commitments, she has continuously volunteered in the broader community, notably as founding chair of Cabot Habitat for Humanity.
