    Founder and President of the Glenn Gould Foundation and former Dean of Fine Arts at the University of Calgary, he has continued to be a guiding light on the music scene. His expertise in Canadian music, electronic media and communications has earned him the respect of his peers and made him a popular lecturer throughout Canada and abroad. His life's work has greatly benefited Canadian composers and performers over the years. This is a promotion within the Order.

    After musical training in his native Australia and in England, he joined CBC in Winnipeg in 1955, rising to head of Radio Music in 1971. Under him, innovative music programmes were introduced on both radio and television and new composers and performers developed their talents. As President of the Canadian Music Centre, he made a notable contribution to music in Canada. He is now special adviser in Music and Arts to the CBC.
