She dedicated herself to helping residents in Canada's northern communities. This compassionate volunteer was appointed as the second Justice of the Peace in the history of the Yukon, a position she held for more than twenty years. Her many commitments included work in the spiritual,medical, educational and political sectors. She was an active member of the territory's Interagency Board, working to create connections between community groups and the government to deliver a higher quality of social services. She was a co-founder of a seniors' lobby group and a director of the Yukon Foundation. Her years of effort exemplify the notion of community which is integral to the North.
