Founding president of the Fondation du notariat du Québec and former chairman of the Chambre des notaires du Québec, he has had an important influence on civil law reform projects and legal research in general. In addition, as president of the Société de recherche historique Archiv-Histo, he maintains an historical data bank on Quebec society, based on notarial archives.
