As a longtime Rotary Club member and former president of CARE Canada, his humanitarian vision and leadership, as well as his ability to promote harmony over confrontation, have inspired the global community to respond to the needs of disadvantaged people the world over. He was the driving force behind the formation of CARE International and the growth of its reputation for delivering aid and promoting self-sufficiency in developing countries.
