Former Chairman of Montreal's McCord Museum of Canadian History, he spearheaded the fund-raising efforts which led to the transformation and expansion of this institution into a world-class museum. He has also travelled and lectured widely on conservation, heritage and the environment, written books on these subjects, and devoted countless hours to volunteering for youth organizations, including two foundations of which he is the chairman.
