      As a soldier, politician, lawyer and judge, he has served this country well. While Minister of Justice, he established the National Parole Board and appointed the first woman member. His legal career is marked by his years as chairperson of the Law Reform Commission of British Columbia and as a justice of that province's Supreme Court. Most recently, he was the Canadian chairperson of the prestigious International Joint Commission.
