An educator, economist, business leader and former Cabinet Minister, he has become a model for all Canadians. His astute and well-written commentaries have influenced the mainstream of politics and public policy in this country. Now, in his eighties, he is a Fellow in Residence at the Institute for Research on Public Policy, where he continues to make Canadians aware of important policy issues.
