They have played a crucial role in preserving the tradition, history and spirituality of the Blackfoot people for more than sixty years. Having ensured the survival of sacred ceremonies, they have also spent their lives promoting greater knowledge and understanding between Natives and non- Natives. Wise counsellors in matters of culture and in dealing with social problems, they are highly respected Elders who continue to lead their people with dignity.
