He has spent his adult life creating a more tolerant and integrated society, striving to downplay the differences that divide us and highlight our commonalities. As an educator, he was a staunch advocate for racial tolerance and equal opportunities for an ethnically-diverse student population. Officially retired, he continues to serve as an advisor to the provincial department of education.
