For over 30 years, he worked as a volunteer to conserve his province's heritage. He was responsible for Photo Historica, a bilingual publication chronicling the Acadian and Irish contributions to his region. The founder, director and curator of the Tignish Museum, he spearheaded the campaign to restore the outstanding Louis Mitchell tracker action organ and published a history of this instrument. In addition, he worked to make students aware of the importance of heritage conservation and the preservation of regional history.
