Since retiring from a distinguished military career he has been actively involved in a number of voluntary organizations. A former Chief Commissioner of the Canadian St. John Ambulance Brigade and New Brunswick Co-ordinator of the Prince of Wales' visit to Canada in 1983, he has participated in local and provincial community groups in Ontario and in New Brunswick.
